Shihan Gary Yonkers is a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. He has spent decades exploring and refining the art as it was passed down from its founder, Professor Seishiro Okazaki.
In addition to his martial arts background, Shihan Yonkers is a trained massage therapist with extensive knowledge of anatomy and human physiology. He brings this unique expertise into his teaching, emphasizing the subtle mechanics and precise applications that make Danzan Ryu such a powerful and effective system.
Shihan Yonkers is known for his thoughtful, in-depth instruction, guiding students through the foundational techniques, such as escapes, locks, throws, and pins. Not only in practice but in purpose. His approach helps students develop a deeper understanding of how techniques work, why they work, and how they relate to their own physical awareness. Through this integration of martial knowledge and anatomical insight, Shihan Yonkers supports each student in discovering how Danzan Ryu can enhance their personal journey in martial arts and beyond.
